Brunel has a proud history of being different. We trace our origins back to 1798 and the establishment of three technical colleges to educate people in professional, technical and applied subjects. Through our establishment as a University in 1966 to today, these foundations remain at the heart of our identity – we have a global reputation for the excellence of our teaching and research, and remain committed to serving the needs of business, industry and the professions. We occupy a distinctive place in the sector, and our West London location supports a diverse portfolio of partnerships across the creative, health, business and the third sectors. This is an exciting time to join the University. In July 2023 we launched our new Strategy – Wielding Brunel’s World-class Difference – which aims to propel Brunel to new heights and establish us as a world-leading technical University and we are on a positive trajectory. In the past two years we have climbed more than 70 places over the 2024 and 2025 QS League Table surveys, our National Student Survey results and key research metrics. We are seeking a talented and visionary leader to become the Executive Dean of the College of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences (CHMLS). This is a critical leadership role at the University. One of the most significant developments at Brunel in recent years has been the establishment of the Brunel Medical School, which is now in its successful fourth year. The College is home to this new medical school, alongside our more established strengths in life sciences and allied health, bringing a broad, multi-disciplinary approach to addressing societal challenges in health and life sciences. The opportunity to lead CHMLS is a wonderful opportunity to shape the strategic direction of the College with the potential – through research, education and partnerships – to have a significant impact on West London and national on the medicine health and life sciences landscape at a time of change in the NHS. An experienced leader in a relevant academic discipline, we are seeking someone excited by the challenge of leading CHMLS at this exciting time, with a focus on continuing to grow our research base, improving student experience, and helping to bring the best out of our exceptional community of staff and students. Comfortable working at Board level as a member of Brunel’s executive, you will provide strategic leadership of all aspects of the College across education, research and staffing, and play a critical role in the delivery of our new Strategy. Applications should consist of a full curriculum vitae detailing professional qualifications and experience, accompanied by a covering letter describing briefly how candidates meet the candidate specification outlined in this document, why the appointment is of interest, and what they believe they can bring to the role. The closing date for applications is midnight (GMT) on Sunday 12th January 2025. Salary: Competitive for the role. Location: Uxbridge, London. #J-18808-Ljbffr
