Overview

Are you a Chartered Transport Planner (or working towards) with good knowledge of Highways design principals and experience of producing transport assessments for new Commercial, Industrial or Residential developments? If so, then I am keen to speak with you.

I have an exciting opportunity with one of the UKs largest and fastest growing multi-disciplined consultants, who are renowned for their innovative approach and collaborative culture.

They are looking for a Senior or Principal Transport Plannerto join their growing Transport Planning and Highways team, supporting their strong pipeline of varied work across the North of England. They are a passionate, multi-disciplined team who actively support each other to ensure that they can deliver high-quality solutions for their clients.

About the role

You will be working with a diverse variety of clients, which typically include housing and commercial developers, local authorities, highway authorities, architects, town-planners and other professionals.

Your work will primarily be development related transport planning and will include preparation of Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, transport chapters for environmental impact assessment, and other development related transport reports.

You will also help mentor and support junior staff and be proactive in keeping up to date with current practices, guidelines etc..

You will undertake site visits and attend meetings as required. The role will also involve some client liaison, such as attending meetings and assisting with work winning through preparing fee proposals, with full support and guidance provided from the leadership team whenever required.

About you

Our client is looking for an ambitious and versatile individual with a genuine interest in transport consultancy. You will ideally be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience of developing transport assessments, travel plans and other transport study reports.
  • Knowledge of highway design principles relevant to site access design.
  • An ability to use AutoCAD and GIS software.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience of software packages such as TRICS and Junctions 9.
  • A good understanding of the UK planning and transport processes

Preferred Qualifications

Degree or HND in a relevant subject (e.g. transport planning, civil engineering, geography)
Professional Accreditation, such as MCIHT, MTPS, MCILT
