Your new team: This position sits in our Chivas Brothers business. At Chivas Brothers, our 1,600-strong team across 27 sites is committed to upholding the heritage of Scotch and ensuring its sustainable future.
Your unique contribution: The purpose of the job is to grow Strathisla Brand Home business and effectively manage it. You will be managing the team according to Chivas Brothers purpose and values and ensuring the Brand Home’s financial profitability and operational excellence.
You will have 4 main areas of responsibility:
- Manage the team: Manage Brand Home staff daily and recruit staff as required. Develop and implement staff training system, including brand and product knowledge, premium experience, retail and hospitality skillset as well as digital competencies. Responsible for producing a monthly staff rota plan, monitoring holidays and sickness, collating time sheets and liaising with payroll. Communicate and report weekly to the Scotland based Prestige Hospitality Manager.
- Deliver premium whisky experiences: Set up an effective and premium range of experiences that is unique. Lead the BH team in implementation and continuous improvement of immersive, high-end guest experiences aligned with luxury positioning and storytelling. Liaise with the marketing brand teams ensuring script and visual content are up to date. Manage online booking system via CBL third-party. Coordinate trade and senior management team visits with Visit Coordinator & Linn House team. Support in the shop, welcoming guests, conducting whisky tastings and guided tours when necessary. Host VIP and HNWI visits. Ensure consistent operational support of visits related to The Vault and associated activities.
- Develop financial profitability: Set up yearly financial KPIs in collaboration with the Brand Home finance team and the Prestige Hospitality Manager. Review and adapt KPIs on a quarterly basis. Establish a yearly promotional plan both online and in the shop. Launch new products in collaboration with brand marketing team. Conduct specific revenue generation activities. Work with Business Development Associate and Visit Coordinator to optimise both tourism and prestige visitor numbers by developing travel trade & luxury tourism partnerships. Maximise tour occupancy using local advertising and social media platforms. Analyse Brand Home monthly P&Ls in order to monitor and adjust structure + other costs.
- Ensure operational excellence: Collect visitor data to grow visitor database and ensure the conversion into sales of online activities. Monitor and report stock levels monthly. Manage the maintenance of suitable cash float and balance the tills daily. Become premise manager and hold a personal license to meet the legal requirements. Administer full Health and Safety records for the Brand Home as part of the site control plan. Fully trained in Food Hygiene where applicable.
Who you’ll be working with: Internally, you will work with Scotland Prestige Hospitality Manager & wider team including Linn House, Head of Prestige Hospitality, relevant Brand marketing team, Distillery team, Blending Team Health & Safety team, HR Brand Home team, CBL communication team, Customer Service team, Finance Business Analyst and relevant Finance teams. Externally, your contacts will be Mail Marketing UK for online activity coordination, 3rd party agency for online booking system management, CBL studio team for content creation, local businesses and tourism operators.
Your blend of talent: This position could be right for you if you have an entrepreneurial spirit and/or background, experience in managing projects, pro-active outlook, autonomy, planning and organisational skills, good understanding in analysing business performances through short and long term KPIs, retail knowledge and experience, marketing and digital skills, ability to communicate effectively at all levels, interest in heritage/luxury brand and ideally premium whiskies, ability to recruit and enhance the skills of the Brand Home team, and a full driving license.
