Your new team: This position sits in our Chivas Brothers business. At Chivas Brothers, our 1,600-strong team across 27 sites is committed to upholding the heritage of Scotch and ensuring its sustainable future, as well as opening it up to new audiences across the globe.
The Brand Home Deputy Supervisor at Strathisla has a key role to play in directing the vision and implementation of multiple brands; Chivas Royal Salute, Strathisla & more, and to lead the team to promote brand advocacy in trade and public visitors.
Your unique contribution:
To be responsible for the supervision of the effective operation of the Brand Home promoting a team focus on maximising turnover and profitability while maintaining excellence in hospitality, highest quality experiences and immaculate facilities.
Key responsibilities:
- Work closely with Brand Home Supervisor to maintain and develop online shop and other digital retail opportunities and innovations.
- Make use of E-CRM and social media to support retail sales.
- Maintain appropriate level and range of shop stock and ensure effective merchandising.
- To be responsible for stock management, daily cashing up & weekly banking of cash takings.
- To conduct stock takes according to dedicated procedures.
- Ensure effective operation of EPOS system, with particular attention to most appropriate use of barcoding and till buttons to promote stock accuracy.
- Develop relationships with HNWI/collectors to encourage repeat custom.
Experience:
- Manage online booking system to maintain excellent customer service and provide up to date information to potential visitors.
- Apply forward planning and organisational skills to coordinate trade visits with Brand Home experiences to ensure excellent experience for all parties.
- Maximise visitor numbers by reviewing experience popularity and feedback, suggesting changes and developing new experiences.
- Build relationships with local tour companies and develop relationships with a view to increasing business with them.
- Welcome all trade visitors in person, host VIP’s when required and conduct guided tours of the distillery when necessary.
- Make use of E-CRM and social media to connect with visitors and extend advocacy beyond visit.
General Operations:
- To achieve Visitor Centre revenue budgets, cost parameters and profitability targets.
- To ensure that the Visitor Centre always clean and tidy and that the security of people and premises is maintained.
- To be responsible for creation of rotas, managing staff holidays and administration of My Options.
- To delegate and manage distribution of workload effectively.
- Be aware of Brand Home budget, identify and suggest actions to control overhead costs with particular attention to labour costs.
- Be aware of Brand Home monthly P&L report and suggest actions to ensure viability of operations.
- Respond to all customer e-mails, phone call, voicemail and trip advisor reviews in an acceptable time frame.
- To use E1 to arrange payment of BH invoices and to log work tickets for CBL engineers.
Leadership/Training/Development:
- To lead team by example and coach individual team members to develop their skills and maximise performance.
- Review team performance on a regular basis and identify training & development needs.
- To liaise with Brand Home Supervisor in the resolution of performance issues as necessary and in line with company policy.
- To motivate and be proactive in encouraging team commitments and spirit.
- To communicate effectively through various methods such as regular briefings/ meetings and individual discussions.
- To supervise the Brand Home team in a fair, consistent and responsible way.
- To support Brand Home team in providing general operational skills and to stand usual shifts as required for the smooth operation of the Brand Home.
- To communicate effectively with, and cooperate and assist the Brand Home and the Distillery teams at all levels when necessary.
- To support all training and development initiatives.
Health and Safety and Legal Requirements:
- To ensure that all operations within the Brand Home conform to current Health and Safety legislation and report any failings to company health and safety representative.
- To hold a Personal Licence and be aware of, and adhere to, current licensing laws.
- To undertake any other duties as and when required by BH Manager.
- To be qualified in First Aid.

- Key relationship internal: Brand Home staff, individual brand marketing teams, Brand Education team, Production & warehousing teams
- Key relationship external: Tour operators, tourism bodies, retail suppliers, local businesses, Brand Home Customers
Your blend of talent:

- Previous experience in senior/supervisory or management role is a must for this role, preferably in High End Retail, Hospitality or Experience Brands.
- Strong Leadership Skills with experience in Management and ability to manage a large team.
- In-depth understanding of Experience Management such as tour operations, tastings, bar with ability to handle customer needs, requests, complaints, and capacity to maintain a fun and safe environment.
- Flexible attitude and comfortable to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with the ability to meet tight deadlines and effectively prioritise a varied workload.
- Experience using social media & ECRM tools to engage with BH audience.
- Solid understanding of Marketing/PR/Brand Ambassador/Events Organisation.
- Good knowledge of brand strategies and key messages.
- Solid experience in managing inventory and implementing promotions to support BH financial targets.
- Experience of working to KPI’s to influence the BH P&L budget and strategizing to make a positive impact.
- Knowledge and passion for whisky category.
Mandatory to be based in the above distillery locations for this role with occasional travel to our sites across the UK.
