About the role
We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Engineering Project Manager to be responsible for leading major capital expenditure (Capex) projects and delivering agreed project outcomes safely, effectively and within agreed timelines and budgets. This role also includes Capex management of the projects under its governance, ensuring budgets are correct, maintained and correctly phased from a cash perspective, working closely with Engineering Managers to provide technical guidance, expertise and support across the region.
What you will do
- Lead strategic or high-spend projects from initiation to completion.
- Build and support project teams with the skills, expertise and resources required for successful project delivery.
- Coordinate all technical activities, including design packages, specifications.
- Assist in Request for Proposal (RFP) processes, vendor selection and constructability reviews.
- Ensure Capex requirements are supported by executed studies (FEED, detailed design).
- Ensure seamless integration of global technology experts in design discussions.
- Arrange asset testing in cooperation with startup leads and ensure contractual performance compliance.
- Manage internal and external communication for project execution.
- Oversee reporting and meeting cadence with senior management and steering committees.
- Support continuous learning and professional development for yourself and others within the project team.
- Act as Senior Project Engineer, providing technical expertise, guidance and support throughout project delivery.
- Ensure compliant handover to Operations in all areas: technology, safety, quality.
Capex Management
- Track progress, monitor and steer costs of ongoing projects.
Your skills and background
- Degree qualified with substantial Controls and Instrumentation and experience required to become chartered.
- Substantial engineering project management experience delivering projects in a process environment.
- Experience in risk management, stakeholder engagement and financial planning within project environments.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to manage budgets and project expenditure effectively.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
