About the role
- Safety & Compliance Champion: Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards across your area. Deliver reduction in incidents through proactive audits and safe systems of work. Ensure statutory compliance, including ATEX environments and permit-to-work processes. Manage contractors, RAMS approvals, and safe execution of on-site activities.
- Asset Performance & Quality: Be responsible for plant reliability, maintenance standards, and overall equipment performance. Deliver effective Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and corrective actions. Embed asset care and lean manufacturing principles. Maintain accurate engineering data, documentation, and technical systems. Ensure availability of critical spares and up-to-date technical libraries.
- Cost & Efficiency: Manage OPEX, CAPEX, and labour budgets within agreed targets. Improve downtime and asset availability through reliability initiatives. Deliver cost savings through continuous improvement and engineering projects.
- Delivery & Continuous Improvement: Facilitate root cause problem solving (RCPS) and performance improvement plans. Support and deliver capital projects within your area. Deliver KPI improvements (e.g. MTBF, MTTR) and maximise CMMS utilisation. Promote a culture of "no work without a work order". Coordinate asset care planning and weekly maintenance scheduling.
- People & Engagement: Develop and coach technicians and operators to enhance capability and performance. Identify and deliver technical training aligned to competency frameworks. Support workforce planning and drive engagement initiatives.
Your skills and background
- Minimum HNC in Engineering (or equivalent) along with engineering experience in process / manufacturing environments.
- Background in maintenance team leadership, asset performance management (CMMS) and demonstrated competence in ATEX environments.
- Solid fault finding and problem‑solving skills.
- Knowledge of process operations e.g. flow of liquid in hazardous environments.
- IOSH/NEBOSH qualified with strong HSE awareness.
- Budget management (R&M/Capex) and KPI delivery.
- Ability to coach and develop teams.
