About the role

We are currently hiring a Logistics Planning Lead to be responsible for ensuring accurate and efficient management of finished goods and dry goods inventory across on-site and external storage locations. The role oversees inventory control, distribution requirements planning, and logistics coordination to ensure the right stock is available in the right place at the right time. You will support operational performance through effective planning, KPI reporting, data-informed decision-making, cost efficiency and continuous improvement across inventory and distribution processes.

What you will do

  • Inventory Management & Control
    • Be accountable for all on-site and external dry goods and finished goods inventory, ensuring accuracy, availability, and compliance with internal standards.
    • Forecast off-site storage requirements, using demand, production, and inventory projections to determine when additional warehouse capacity is required.
    • Identify risks and constraints within the planning horizon and identify and recommend mitigation actions.
    • Coordinate and oversee cycle counting, stock reconciliation, and root-cause analysis for discrepancies.
    • Monitor and manage aged, finished goods, implementing proactive actions to reduce write-offs and obsolescence.
  • Distribution Requirements Planning
    • Be responsible for Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP) across a rolling 13-week horizon, ensuring all inbound and outbound flows are planned, visible, and aligned with production, demand, and logistics capacity.
    • Build and maintain a forward 13-week truck-movement plan, ensuring sufficient transport capacity for inbound dry goods, outbound finished goods, and inter-site/3PL stock transfers.
    • Model and forecast distribution cost-to-serve, including transport, storage, and handling costs, to support budgeting, scenario planning, and operational decision-making.
    • Translate demand and production plans into clear inventory and distribution requirements, ensuring the right stock is in the right place at the right time.
    • Provide regular planning updates to cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment between supply chain, production, commercial, and logistics stakeholders.
  • Logistics Operations
    • Coordinate stock transfers to and from 3PL partners, ensuring timely movement, cost efficiency, and data accuracy.
    • Work with your team to collaborate with production, warehousing, and logistics teams to ensure seamless material flow.
    • Support operational readiness for new product launches, packaging changes, and promotional activity.
  • Performance, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
    • Track and report key inventory KPIs (e.g., stock accuracy, service levels, aged stock, obsolescence risk).
    • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance planning accuracy, reduce waste, and improve supply chain responsiveness.
    • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reporting tools to articulate current performance, highlight risks, and project future inventory and distribution positions.
    • Use data visualisation to support decision-making, improve transparency, and promote transparency and shared accountability across the supply chain.
    • Ensure master data integrity for all relevant materials and planning parameters.

Your skills and background

  • Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience in Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP), inventory planning, supply chain coordination or similar operational planning environments.
  • Experience working with third-party logistics providers (3PLs) and external supply chain partners.
  • Experience within FMCG, manufacturing, beverage, spirits or similar operational industries.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across teams and external partners.
  • Ability to analyse information, identify risks and support data-informed decision-making.
