Permutive's data collaboration platform uses edge technology to securely process data where it is and AI to discover signals that drive performance—respecting consumers' privacy preferences while delivering outcomes for publishers and advertisers.

Our customers include some of the world's largest media companies and advertisers—including News Corp, Warner Brothers Discovery, Hearst, The Guardian, Sky, State Street, Sonos, and Apple—and we're backed by leading investors like SoftBank Vision Fund and Y Combinator.

About The Role

  • Collaborate with engineering leadership to define and execute initiatives for Permutive's core infrastructure and security posture.
  • Drive technical decisions, architectural improvements, cost efficiencies, and vendor management for a large‐scale, distributed cloud platform.
  • Partner with Engineering and Product teams to identify and implement infrastructure tooling that promotes reliability, velocity, and autonomy.
  • Oversee the management of our security processes, including audits and compliance efforts such as SOC 2.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in infrastructure, DevOps, security, SRE, or platform engineering roles.
  • 2+ years in a people‐leadership role managing engineers.
  • Strong track record building, scaling, and operating complex distributed systems in cloud environments.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and cross‐functional collaboration skills.
  • Hands‐on experience with cloud platforms, preferably GCP.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation), messaging systems (Kafka), and databases ranging from Postgres to Bigtable and Redis.
  • Proficiency in infrastructure languages (Go, Python) and familiarity with the JVM for our application stack.
  • Solid experience building CI/CD pipelines and automating deployment workflows.
  • Proficiency in monitoring, logging, tracing tools (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry).
  • Experience with incident management, post‐mortems, capacity planning, and resilience engineering.
