Our technology is used by hedge funds, banks, and commodity trading desks to integrate signals directly into live trading and research workflows.
We’re hiring a Junior Data Scientist / Quant to sit at the intersection of data science, product, and client integration. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who wants to work for a financial institution disruptor.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Support client integrations of Permutable’s data, APIs, and signals into their research or trading systems
- Assist with signal onboarding, including explaining methodologies, assumptions, and intended use-cases
- Help run and interpret back-tests and validation analysis for client-specific workflows
- Work with client data to test use-case applications (e.g. strategy overlays, filters, dashboards)
- Support customers during onboarding and early usage, helping answer analytical and data-related questions
- Collaborate with engineering to improve API usability, documentation, and data quality
- Monitor live signals and help investigate behaviour, changes, or anomalies
What You Bring
- Degree (or equivalent experience) in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, or similar
- Strong grounding in statistics, probability, and time-series analysis
- Comfortable working in Python and analysing data programmatically
- Clear communicator — able to explain analysis simply and honestly
- Curious about how data products are actually used by clients
- Interest in financial markets, trading, or applied ML
Nice to Have
- Experience with APIs, JSON, or data pipelines
- Familiarity with back testing, signals, or quantitative strategies
- Basic SQL knowledge
- Exposure to financial or commodities markets
