Full Job Description

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established and highly regarded freight and logistics business based at London Heathrow. We are looking for an experienced and motivated Ocean Import Coordinator to join their busy operations team on a 12-month fixed-term contract covering maternity leave.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a fast-paced, internationally connected environment where you will take full ownership of the import process from start to finish across a portfolio of assigned accounts.

The Role:

  • Manage and oversee imported goods for assigned client accounts, from arrival to delivery
  • Ensure customs compliance with all UK/EU regulations and government requirements
  • Transpose customs declaration information accurately into the brokerage system
  • Liaise with overseas offices, partners, agents and customs authorities
  • Arrange and complete all associated import documentation
  • Cost jobs and ensure maximum profitability
  • Manage and meet internal and external KPIs
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with HM Customs and other government agencies
  • Keep up to date with all regulatory requirements governing imports

About You:

  • Knowledge of customs import declaration procedures and customs regimes
  • Understanding of classification, incoterms, valuation and origin rules
  • Experience in air, road or ocean freight movements (desirable)
  • Strong administrative and numerical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • The ability to manage deadlines and handle challenging situations calmly
  • GCSE English and Maths (minimum)
