Full Job Description
We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established and highly regarded freight and logistics business based at London Heathrow. We are looking for an experienced and motivated Ocean Import Coordinator to join their busy operations team on a 12-month fixed-term contract covering maternity leave.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a fast-paced, internationally connected environment where you will take full ownership of the import process from start to finish across a portfolio of assigned accounts.
The Role:
- Manage and oversee imported goods for assigned client accounts, from arrival to delivery
- Ensure customs compliance with all UK/EU regulations and government requirements
- Transpose customs declaration information accurately into the brokerage system
- Liaise with overseas offices, partners, agents and customs authorities
- Arrange and complete all associated import documentation
- Cost jobs and ensure maximum profitability
- Manage and meet internal and external KPIs
- Build and maintain strong relationships with HM Customs and other government agencies
- Keep up to date with all regulatory requirements governing imports
About You:
- Knowledge of customs import declaration procedures and customs regimes
- Understanding of classification, incoterms, valuation and origin rules
- Experience in air, road or ocean freight movements (desirable)
- Strong administrative and numerical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- The ability to manage deadlines and handle challenging situations calmly
- GCSE English and Maths (minimum)

Contract: Fixed Term – 12 Months (Maternity Cover) + potential ongoing permanent employment
