Job Type: Full-time

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Egham

About the Company: They are a growing, independent time‑critical freight forwarding business based in Egham, serving demanding clients in sectors such as aerospace, cruise & marine, healthcare, and energy. They specialise in handling time‑sensitive shipments where precision, speed, and reliability are non‑negotiable. Their clients rely on them in situations where failure simply isn’t an option. They prioritise building long‑term partnerships, protecting healthy margins (targeting 35‑40% company margin on good accounts), and delivering proper solutions without shortcuts. They are a small, high‑standards team with strong ambition. They value accountability, urgency, ownership, and people who want to earn through performance in a supportive environment with no micromanaging from senior leadership.

The Role: This is a proactive, outbound sales role focused purely on generating new business in their target sectors. You’ll be picking up the phone, building profiles from scratch, nurturing leads, starting conversations, qualifying time‑critical opportunities, and booking qualified meetings. This is not inbound or account management – it’s cold calling, field sales style prospecting, attending industry shows/meet‑ups to build relationships, and driving your own pipeline. You’ll report directly to the Managing Director in a collaborative setup where the team works together to close deals. The role offers direct exposure to leadership, hands‑on training in time‑critical freight and commercial negotiation, and a clear path to Business Development Manager for the right person. High performers will take on full revenue ownership with significant earning potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prospect and generate new business via outbound telephone, email, and LinkedIn
  • Target companies in aerospace, cruise & marine, healthcare, and energy sectors
  • Qualify prospects with a focus on time‑critical freight needs
  • Build and nurture profiles/leads to create opportunities
  • Book meetings and maintain a structured sales pipeline
  • Keep accurate CRM records
  • Support follow‑up on proposals and opportunities
  • Attend industry shows, networking events, and meet‑ups to build relationships
  • Achieve KPIs including a minimum of 40 touches per week

What They Are Looking For: Attitude and drive are everything – freight forwarding experience is preferred but not essential. You will be:

  • Young, determined, and hungry to earn commission
  • Competitive and financially motivated
  • Comfortable and experienced with cold calling/outbound prospecting (minimum 2 years in sales with a proven track record)
  • Resilient – not put off by rejection and able to stay persistent
  • Disciplined with time management and activity levels
  • Clear and confident communicator
  • Ambitious and serious about a long‑term sales career
  • Able to build profiles, nurture leads, and generate good accounts (targeting ÂŁ10k+ per month per account at 35‑40% company margin)

This is not a comfortable admin‑based or low‑activity role. If you want real growth, accountability, and uncapped earning potential in a supportive small‑team environment, this will suit you.

What You’ll Get:

  • Uncapped commission (paid later in the process)
  • Clear progression path to Business Development Manager
  • Direct reporting to and exposure to the Managing Director
  • Hands‑on training in time‑critical freight and negotiation
  • Company car allowance (ÂŁ500 per month)
  • Company pension
  • On‑site parking
  • Private medical insurance
  • Opportunity to grow with a scaling independent business

Start Date: March 2026
