Permax Recruitment is working in partnership with a world leading cryptocurrency accounting and professional services firm on the role of Digital Bookkeeper. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable, and ensuring the integrity of accounting data through various accounting software platforms. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in bookkeeping and accounting technology to contribute to an organisation's financial health.

Location: Hybrid role. 2/3 days in office (Cheltenham), 2/3 days working from home

Salary: £27k to £30k

Responsibilities:

  • Management of own client work (including effective communication and assistance with needs where required).
  • Calculating and managing employee salaries, wages, bonuses, and deductions for all of our clients.
  • Handling payroll queries and resolving discrepancies promptly ensuring we remain compliant with payroll regulations.
  • Experience with payment runs, ensuring timely and accurate processing of payments through various banking systems.
  • Reconciliation of balance sheet items with supporting schedules to ensure accurate and up to date data is being provided to clients.
  • Using digital software to complete bookkeeping duties on a daily basis.
  • Preparation of financial statements to review status.
  • Completion of statutory returns, including but not limited to, VAT returns.
  • Report to Client & Account Manager on a regular basis to ensure smooth operation of compliance team.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of accounting standards such as IFRS, UK GAAP, etc.
  • Experience in payroll processing and payment runs is preferable.
  • Management accounts.
  • Awareness of business trends.
  • Familiarity with financial accounting statements.
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software packages (Xero/Dext preferred).
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills.
