The Opportunity
Our client is a boutique private equity executive search firm with offices in Amsterdam and London. With a strong reputation for delivering senior-level appointments across the private equity landscape, they are entering an exciting phase of growth and are seeking a Recruitment Director to help shape the next stage of their journey. This is a pivotal leadership role with full P&L responsibility, offering the opportunity to influence both strategic direction and day-to-day performance across both offices and ultimately become a true partner within the business. This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior leadership position within a respected executive search firm, where you can make a tangible impact on both people and performance. You will play a key role in developing the leadership team, scaling the business, and positioning yourself as a long-term partner in a growing firm.
The Role
As Recruitment Director, you will take ownership of the London and Amsterdam teams, driving performance, mentoring senior consultants and managers, and contributing directly to revenue. This is a hands-on leadership position suited to someone who thrives in a high-performance, entrepreneurial environment.
- Leading, coaching, and developing a team of experienced consultants (currently 4 team members)
- Managing full P&L responsibility across both offices
- Driving team and individual performance to maximise revenue and profitability
- Personally contributing to billings through retained executive search mandates
- Partnering with private equity clients on high-level, C-suite and senior leadership searches
- Identifying growth opportunities and expanding the firm’s private equity offering
- Supporting hiring strategy and scaling the business with future talent
About You
We are looking for a high-calibre recruitment leader with a strong track record in private equity recruitment and/or executive search. You will bring:
- 10+ years’ experience in recruitment, ideally within private equity / executive search
- Strong commercial acumen, with a proven ability to win and build new retained business
- A hands-on approach, combining strategic oversight with personal billing
- Proven success delivering retained C-suite and senior leadership mandates
- Demonstrable leadership experience, with the ability to coach and elevate senior consultants
- Experience managing and influencing P&L performance
- An entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to build, scale, and innovate
Languages: Dutch advantageous; fluent or bilingual English essential
