About the role
Our client, a long-established manufacturing business, seeks to appoint a Workshop Technician to support their R&D and production teams!
The appointed Workshop Technician must have a mechanical engineering qualification and a good mix of practical skills. As Workshop Technician you will support the design team with the manufacture and assembly of prototypes, conduct quality checks through the process and provide feedback to the R&D team on your work.
This role would suit a recent mechanical engineering graduate with a year’s industry experience who is looking for a hands-on engineering role or an experienced technician/engineer who is looking for their next challenge.
Role and Responsibilities:
• Support the design and production teams on a wide range of bespoke R&D projects
• Build prototypes and provide feedback to the teams
• Manufacture/assemble, test and commission a range of mechanical products
• Inspect a range of products using manual quality inspection tools
• Operate a range of machines (laser cutter, press break, handheld tools)
Skills and Abilities:
• Recognised qualification in mechanical engineering
• A good mix of practical mechanical engineering skills
• Experience working with a range of sheet metal and precision-engineered parts
