Packaging Buyer - Leicester

Futures have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Buyer to join a leading, global, billion £ food manufacturer that is well-known in the market for their great tasting products!

This is an exciting opportunity to reshape a business’s Procurement strategy and be an integral part of the business’s growth plans. You will work in the business’s Group Procurement function overseeing 12+ sites covering all Packaging Purchases for the business with a £20m – £30m spend.

Your Key Skills and Responsibilities Include:
• Best practice cost optimisation through negotiating overall best terms
• Strategic planning, budget planning and forecast planning processes – Developing robust, long, medium- and short-term plans and providing the group with an accurate financial forecast to enable successful forecasting
• Working closely with the business procurement managers to execute implementation plans
• Ensure documented and vigorous risk management strategies are in place
• Undertake quality market intelligence gathering to enable group procurement to build a stronger position in negotiations, managing risks and making better informed sourcing decisions in key category areas
• Managing key relationships with suppliers as well as internal and external stakeholders
• Create an environment to cultivate innovation opportunities from suppliers and engage with the relevant business procurement managers to achieve “first to market” status

Your Skills & Experience Required:
• A minimum of 3 years experience working as a Buyer with experience in Packaging
• Experience within a food, FMCG or a manufacturing environment
• Excellent Supplier relationship management skills
• Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to maintain professional relationships
• Identifies opportunities for improvement and drives them forward
• Able to influence stakeholders at all levels
