We are partnering with a highly respected and established manufacturer within the electrical infrastructure sector to appoint an experienced Head of Sales – Power Distribution. This is a pivotal leadership position with responsibility for driving commercial growth across the UK. The successful candidate will combine strategic sales leadership with a hands-on approach to business development, key account management, and team leadership. You'll play a key role in strengthening existing customer relationships while identifying and securing new opportunities across the power distribution market. Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will shape and execute the national sales strategy, ensuring sustainable revenue growth and exceptional customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver the UK sales strategy for the power distribution business.
- Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities across utilities, contractors, consultants, OEMs, EPCs, and industrial end users.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key customers, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business.
- Lead commercial negotiations and oversee major project opportunities from identification through to contract award.
- Manage and develop a small national sales team, providing coaching, mentoring, performance management, and strategic direction.
- Work collaboratively with technical, engineering, operations, and marketing teams to deliver commercially successful solutions.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities to maintain a competitive advantage.
- Prepare sales forecasts, budgets, pipeline reporting, and performance metrics for senior leadership.
- Represent the business at industry events, exhibitions, and customer meetings.
About You
We're looking for an experienced sales leader who understands the UK electrical infrastructure market and has a proven ability to grow revenues through both new business acquisition and strategic account management. You will be able to demonstrate:
- Significant sales leadership experience within electrical infrastructure, power distribution, switchgear, transformers, cable accessories, substations, or related sectors.
