Our client is a technology-led engineering business working on high-performance power electronics systems and is now seeking a Power Electronics Engineer to strengthen their development team. This role focuses on the design and optimisation of advanced power conversion solutions, working across the full lifecycle from concept through to production.

As a Power Electronics Engineer, you will be responsible for developing robust, efficient power electronics designs in a highly technical environment. The successful Power Electronics Engineer will work closely with other specialist engineers to solve complex performance, efficiency and reliability challenges. This position will suit a Power Electronics Engineer who enjoys hands-on technical problem-solving and pushing designs to their limits.

Role & Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop power electronics systems from concept to production
  • Work on DC/DC, AC/DC converters, inverters and motor control applications
  • Develop high-voltage and high-current power conversion solutions
  • Select and apply advanced semiconductor technologies including SiC and GaN
  • Carry out simulation, modelling and validation of power electronics designs
  • Support PCB design, layout and thermal considerations for high power density
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver robust designs
Skills & Experience:
  • Strong background in power electronics design and development
  • Proven experience with DC/DC, AC/DC, inverter or motor control systems
  • Experience using simulation tools such as SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink or PSIM
  • Understanding of PCB design considerations for power electronics
  • 5+ years’ experience working in power electronics or related environments
  • Methodical, performance-driven approach to engineering challenges
