Futures are currently recruiting for a Panel Wiring Technician to join a growing engineering and manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and detail-oriented individual with experience reading electrical drawings and wiring control panels to a high standard.
Working within a production environment, you will be responsible for assembling and wiring electrical control panels from engineering drawings and schematics, ensuring all work is completed safely, accurately, and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
- Assemble and wire electrical control panels to specification.
- Install electrical components including relays, contactors, PLCs, terminal blocks, circuit breakers, and associated equipment.
- Use a variety of hand tools and power tools to build and wire panels.
- Route, terminate, label, and test wiring in accordance with engineering drawings.
- Carry out quality checks to ensure panels meet customer and company standards.
- Identify and report any drawing discrepancies or technical issues.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Support testing and commissioning activities where required.
- Previous experience in panel wiring, control panel assembly, or electrical manufacturing.
- Ability to confidently read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Competent in the use of hand tools and power tools.
- Good understanding of electrical components and wiring practices.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
- Relevant electrical qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ, Apprenticeship or equivalent).
- Experience wiring industrial control panels.
- Familiarity with PLC systems and automation equipment.
- Experience with electrical testing and fault finding.
