We are working with an established and growing furniture manufacturer that designs and delivers high-quality solutions across commercial, education, healthcare and workplace environments. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Business Development Manager to strengthen existing relationships and drive new revenue across public and private sector markets.
This is a key commercial role, focused on account growth, strategic new business development and long-term partnership building.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and grow a portfolio of existing key accounts, identifying opportunities to increase spend, product adoption and long-term value.
- Act as a trusted commercial partner to clients, understanding their evolving needs and translating these into tailored furniture solutions.
- Work closely with internal teams (design, estimating, operations) to ensure seamless delivery and high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Proactively identify, target and secure new clients across both the public and private sectors.
- Open doors with architects, designers, contractors, end users and procurement teams.
- Build a strong pipeline of opportunities through a mix of networking, referrals, tenders, and proactive outreach.
- Identify and pursue opportunities within frameworks, tenders and public sector procurement routes.
- Manage the commercial input into bids, working collaboratively with internal stakeholders.
- Build long-term relationships with key public sector decision-makers and influencers.
- Stay informed on market trends, competitor activity and upcoming projects.
- Provide insight and feedback to the leadership team to support future growth strategies.
- Represent the business professionally at industry events, exhibitions and client meetings.
- Proven experience in a Business Development / Sales role within furniture, interiors, fit-out, or a related construction or manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrable track record of growing existing accounts and winning new business.
- Experience selling into both public and private sector clients is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with tendering, frameworks or public procurement processes would be advantageous.
- Strong relationship builder with excellent communication and influencing skills.
- Commercially astute with the ability to identify and convert opportunities.
- Self-motivated, resilient and comfortable working autonomously in a field-based role.
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on, results-driven approach.
