Our client, an innovative technology company working at the forefront of electronics R&D, is seeking a skilled and hands-on Electronics Technician to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, working across new product development (NPD), and getting under the hood of intricate hardware systems.

This position will suit a highly capable Electronics Technician with a genuine passion for electronic repair and diagnostics. You’ll take ownership of returned and faulty products, carrying out component-level fault-finding, repair, and testing to the highest standards. Working closely with the R&D engineers, you’ll also support prototype builds and new product introduction activity.

Electronics Technician - Day-to-day role:
  • Investigating and repairing customer returns and internal hardware faults.
  • Conducting detailed fault diagnosis to component level, identifying root causes, and implementing effective repairs.
  • Using a range of test and measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, bench PSUs, etc.) to verify functionality and reliability.
  • Collaborating with hardware engineers on complex or undocumented faults to develop practical repair solutions.
  • Supporting prototype assembly, test, and validation activities within the NPD process.
  • Ensuring work is completed accurately and without introducing collateral damage.

This role requires someone who can work independently but also thrive in a collaborative engineering environment — a problem-solver who’s equally happy at the bench or brainstorming with the design team.

Electronics Technician - Key Skills & Experience:
  • Proficient use of lab and diagnostic equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, and bench power supplies.
  • Strong fault-finding skills to component level.
  • Exceptional soldering and rework ability (through-hole and SMT) to IPC-610 standards.
  • Ability to follow technical documentation and detailed test procedures accurately.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality and precision.
  • Proven background in electronic assembly, testing, and component-level diagnostics.
  • Understanding of electronic schematics and circuit diagrams.
  • HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Electronic, Electrical, or Mechatronic Engineering.
