Credit Controller - The Role

As Credit Controller, you'll be responsible for managing the sales ledger and ensuring outstanding invoices are collected promptly.

You'll play a key role in maintaining healthy cash flow while developing professional relationships with customers.

It is really important you see the role as being on the phone.

A lot of the email chasing is automated and what's needed is relationship building and chasing over the phone.

Chasing outstanding invoices via telephone.

Building strong relationships with customers to encourage prompt payment.

Managing your own portfolio of customer accounts.

Resolving invoice queries quickly and efficiently by liaising with internal departments.

Negotiating payment plans where appropriate.

Allocating incoming payments accurately.

Maintaining accurate customer account records.

Producing aged debt reports and highlighting overdue accounts.

Escalating long-outstanding debts where necessary.

Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc administrative duties.

Credit Controller - About You

Previous experience working within a Credit Control position.

A confident and professional telephone manner.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

The ability to build rapport with customers whilst remaining firm when required.

Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.

Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

The ability to prioritise workloads and work independently.

A positive, proactive attitude with a strong customer service focus.
