We are recruiting on behalf of an established organisation operating within the rail sector, who are looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially aware, delivery-focused Project Manager with previous experience working within the rail industry to take ownership of projects from initial planning through to successful completion.

You will be responsible for managing multiple projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards:

  • Managing rail projects from contract award through to completion
  • Developing and maintaining project programmes, budgets and delivery plans
  • Coordinating internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers and key stakeholders
  • Managing project risks, issues, variations and commercial performance
  • Monitoring progress against agreed milestones and taking corrective action where required
  • Ensuring projects are delivered in line with relevant rail industry, safety and quality requirements
  • Providing clear project updates to senior management and customers

Previous Project Management experience within the rail industry is essential, along with:

  • A strong track record of delivering projects to programme and budget
  • Excellent stakeholder and customer management skills
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Experience managing suppliers, subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams
  • The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced project environment
  • A proactive, organised and solutions-focused approach
  • Experience within rail engineering, infrastructure, rolling stock, signalling, electrification or associated rail projects would all be of interest.
