Futures are supporting an established business, with an R&D facility near Manchester, who are looking to appoint an Electronic Test Engineer. As Electronics Test Engineer you will support a skilled development team in the development, testing and repair of a range of electronic assemblies. You must hold a relevant electronics qualification and have excellent practical skills.

Roles & Responsibilities – Electronics / PCB / Repair / Testing

  • Conduct testing, diagnostics, and repair of electronic assemblies down to component level.
  • Use a range of test and measurement equipment, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and bench PSUs.
  • Follow detailed test procedures, technical drawings, and documentation accurately.
  • Perform soldering and rework on both thru-hole and SMT components to IPC-610 standards.
  • Identify and resolve electronic faults efficiently, ensuring consistent quality and reliability.
  • Support continuous improvement and contribute to maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient lab environment.
  • Collaborate effectively with engineers and production teams to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality outcomes.

Skills and Experience – Electronics / PCB / Repair / Assembly

  • HNC/D (or equivalent) Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
  • Experience in electronics assembly, testing, and diagnostics.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills to component level.
  • Proven soldering and rework capabilities (thru-hole and SMT) to IPC-610 standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when following technical documentation, circuit diagrams and test procedures.
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK.
