Our client is a long-established and successful component manufacturer supplying highly regulated industries and is now looking to strengthen their quality function with the appointment of a Quality Engineer. This is a key role supporting the Quality Manager, focused on maintaining robust quality systems while driving continuous improvement across the business. As a Quality Engineer, you will work closely with manufacturing, engineering and supply chain teams to ensure compliance, improve processes and protect customer standards. This role will suit a Quality Engineer who enjoys problem-solving, change management and working in structured, regulated environments.
Role & Responsibilities
- Maintain compliance with company procedures, ISO9001 and customer standards
- Support process control, capability studies and quality performance reporting
- Lead corrective actions for internal and external non-conformances
- Carry out internal and external audits across product and process
- Champion problem-solving tools and continuous improvement techniques
- Support supplier and subcontractor quality approvals
- Analyse and report cost of quality metrics
- Contribute to training in SPC, auditing, problem-solving and FMEA
Skills & Experience
- HNC/HND or Degree in Engineering
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Quality Engineer role
- Background in automotive or similarly regulated manufacturing environments
- Strong working knowledge of ISO9001
- Experience with SPC, FMEA and structured problem-solving
- Exposure to lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools
- Confident communicator with a methodical, analytical approach
