The Tendering Coordinator is responsible for managing and assessing incoming customer RFQs, coordinating closely with sales, engineering, and suppliers to ensure compliant, accurate, and timely quotations. The role plays a key part in supporting day-to-day tendering activity and maintaining high levels of customer service throughout the quotation process.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and review incoming customer RFQs, ensuring they are assessed and progressed in priority order.
- Coordinate with Sales, Engineering, and Technical teams to obtain compliant technical and commercial inputs.
- Liaise with internal and external suppliers to source quotations aligned with customer specifications.
- Review technical designs and supplier returns to ensure accuracy and compliance with tender requirements.
- Prepare and issue quotations, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
- Maintain and manage tendering activity within internal systems and shared mailboxes.
- Communicate directly with customers where required to clarify commercial or technical queries.
- Support Regional Sales Managers and the wider Tendering team with ongoing tender activity.
- Track and chase outstanding technical inputs and supplier responses to meet timescales.
- Collaborate with internal departments including contracts, engineering, production, and accounts to support customer expectations.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in a tendering, sales coordination, commercial, or RFQ-based role.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage high volumes of work.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to assess technical and commercial information.
- Confident communicator, comfortable working with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritise workload and work effectively under time pressure.
- Proficient in CRM or quotation management systems and Microsoft Office.
