Our client, a growing engineering business, are currently looking for a Proposals Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis in Wakefield. You will be of graduate calibre with an engineering qualification (electrical & electronic engineering preferred) and industry experience as an electronic design engineer who wants to succeed in a proposals based role.
You will take enquiries from the sales team and end user customers and turn those into fully costed, engineering compliant, proposals that will result in the company winning new orders. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing company and assist with its development. You'll take part in a structured development programme to give you all the skills to succeed in a self sufficient bids, tenders and proposals based role.
Role and Responsibilities:- Review Customer enquiries from end users and the sales team
- Prepare estimates and proposals for mechanical, electronic and multi-disciplined projects
- Produce estimates of costs for component parts and labour time to give a finalised end-user price
- Handle queries from the engineering team and end user clients for currently live projects
- Be an adaptable engineer with an academic qualification (electrical & electronic engineering preferred) and some industry work experience
- Have an aptitude for estimating (you don't need to be an estimator already, but you have to want to be one after training!)
- Have excellent Word skills (lots of Excel will be commonplace for component pricing)
