Our client is a growing, R&D-focused engineering SME based in Bradford, looking to appoint a Mechanical Design Engineer to support ongoing product development activity. This role is ideal for a Mechanical Design Engineer at the front end of their career with some post-study industrial experience.
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will work on the design and detailing of mechanical components and assemblies, supporting projects from initial concept through to manufacture. The successful Design Engineer will gain exposure to practical product design within a collaborative engineering environment.
Role & Responsibilities:- Produce detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings
- Create BOMs and supporting design documentation
- Support mechanical design activities across new and existing products
- Liaise with production engineering to support efficient manufacture
- Provide technical support to sales for bespoke or modified designs
- Communicate with suppliers and internal teams on design queries
- HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- 1–3 years post-qualification experience in a mechanical design role
- Experience using 2D and 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, Solid Edge, AutoCAD or similar)
- Awareness of manufacturing methods and materials
- Clear communicator with good attention to detail
