About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance shift Lead Engineer to lead a multi-skilled engineering team within a high-paced production environment. This role is critical to ensuring uptime, maintaining safety standards, and embedding a culture of CI and lean practices across the department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of engineers, driving accountability, performance, and engagement.
- Promote a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with IOSH and H&S regulations.
- Collaborate with production, quality, and CI teams to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Report on KPIs and contribute to strategic planning and budget management.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Apprentice trained with a minimum of an HNC in Engineering (electrical or mechanical).
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Lead Engineer within a food or FMCG manufacturing environment.
- Strong working knowledge of automation systems, conveyors, packaging machinery, and production lines.
- Demonstrates a proactive and safety-conscious mindset, ideally holding an IOSH qualification.
- Strong leadership skills – able to motivate and inspire engineering teams.
- Experienced in driving CI/Lean manufacturing initiatives (5S, root cause analysis, Kaizen, etc.).
