Following continued growth and exciting new contract wins, we’re looking for experienced HGV Class 1 Tanker Drivers to join our expanding operational team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional HGV Driver looking for a stable, long-term role with a growing company, offering excellent training, career development and the chance to work within a specialist industry.
Working on a 4 on / 4 off rota covering days and nights, you’ll play a vital role in delivering safe and efficient drainage and waste services, operating specialist tanker vehicles and supporting both planned works and emergency response situations. Whether you already have tanker experience or you’re an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver looking to develop new skills, we’re keen to hear from you.
The RoleAs an HGV Class 1 Tanker Driver, you will:
- Operate specialist vacuum tanker vehicles (full training provided where required).
- Attend planned works and emergency call-outs, including sewer blockages, flooding and pollution incidents.
- Safely collect, transport and dispose of liquid and controlled waste.
- Complete all work in line with health, safety and environmental standards.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks before and after shifts.
- Complete accurate paperwork and job records.
- Ensure PPE and equipment is maintained and used correctly.
- Work closely with operational teams to deliver a professional service.
- Support other areas of the business when required.
We’re looking for a reliable and safety-focused HGV Driver who takes pride in their work and is keen to develop within a specialist role. You’ll need:
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence.
- Maximum of 6 penalty points.
- Valid Driver CPC qualification.
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
- A flexible approach and willingness to work as part of a 24/7 operation.
- The ability to work weekends, bank holidays and out-of-hours shifts as part of the rota.
Previous experience with:
- Tanker vehicles
- Liquid waste operations
- High-pressure water jetting
- Manual handling
- First Aid
would be beneficial, although training is available for the right candidate. A current Street Works Card would also be desirable.
