We’re an independent, family-owned roastery with a mission to make quality coffee fun, sustainable, and accessible. Since 2015, we’ve been roasting, brewing, and sharing exceptional coffee with our community, our wholesale partners, and thousands of happy caffeine lovers across the UK. Now, we’re looking for a Head Roaster / Trainer to lead quality and innovation across both our roastery and coffee shops . This unique role combines roasting mastery with a passion for education, sustainability, and relationship-building throughout the supply chain. 🔥 What You’ll Do Manage the production schedule and oversee our full-time Production Roaster — ensuring consistency, quality, and creativity across our range. Lead our green coffee buying programme alongside our MD, nurturing supplier relationships and exploring new producers and importers. Develop and refine roast profiles, QC protocols, and sensory standards using industry best practices. Represent Perky Blenders at industry events, cuppings, and collaborations . Support the creation of seasonal and limited releases , keeping our offering fresh and exciting. Bring creativity to our ever-popular Coffee of the Month programme. Maintain a clean, organised production area and ensure all equipment is well cared for. Deliver engaging training sessions, workshops, and cuppings for our shop teams and wholesale partners. Spend part of your week leading barista training or working with our marketing team to create inspiring, coffee-focused content. 🌱 What We’re Looking For Proven experience in specialty coffee roasting (ideally 3+ years). Strong understanding of green coffee sourcing and quality control. Confident communicator with a passion for teaching and mentoring. Curious, creative, and always looking for ways to innovate.
