At Perkins Will’s London studio, we’re seeking a talented and passionate Urban Designer I with 1-3+ years of experience in a professional setting to join our dynamic team. You will support the design process under team guidance, maintaining high standards and meeting project goals. Your work will involve research, site analysis, creating accurate drawings, and preparing clear design documents and presentations. You’ll coordinate revisions, incorporate zoning and policy requirements, assist in urban framework planning, and confidently engage in client presentations. Taking ownership of tasks, you’ll apply creative judgement, collaborate with partners, and ensure accuracy and timely delivery within scope and budget.
Responsibilities
- Support the design process under team guidance, maintaining high standards and meeting project goals, with research, site analysis, creating accurate drawings, and preparing clear design documents and presentations.
- Coordinate revisions, incorporate zoning and policy requirements, assist in urban framework planning, and engage in client presentations.
- Take ownership of tasks, apply creative judgment, collaborate with partners, and ensure accuracy and timely delivery within scope and budget.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in urban design, landscape, architecture, or related discipline (required).
- 1-3+ years of experience in a professional setting.
- LEED GA certification (required within six months of hire).
- Professional accreditation in Living Design is preferred (e.g., LEED AP, BREEAM AP, WELL AP, SITES AP, Passive House Consultant, ILFI Living Future Accreditation).
- Working toward professional licensure or AICP certification.
- Experience with computational analysis methods.
- Functional knowledge of software 2D/3D production tools: Revit, Rhino.
- Digital sketching and diagramming: Illustrator.
- Analytical tools: ArcGIS, Grasshopper.
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Visualization tools: Enscape, V-Ray.
- Physical modelling techniques.
- Presentation tools: InDesign, PowerPoint.
