At Perkins&Will’s London studio, we are seeking an experienced BIM Coordinator to join a large, multidisciplinary team delivering a complex hospital project in the UK.

This role involves managing large‑scale projects in the range of 50,000–150,000 m², often with complex interfaces and both internal and external teams.

It will be focused on project-based BIM coordination and information management in accordance with ISO 19650 and project-specific Exchange Information Requirements (EIR).

The BIM Coordinator will support digital coordination, model quality control, content management and structured information delivery across design disciplines.

This is a hands‑on project delivery role, embedded within the project team.

Role Overview

  • Responsibilities span the full lifecycle of project BIM coordination including:
  • Project setup in accordance with ISO 19650 and client Exchange Information Requirements (EIR)
  • Ongoing development and management of federated design models
  • Digital coordination across disciplines
  • QA/QC of geometry and structured asset data
  • Supporting team training and workflow optimisation
  • Flexibility to support architectural tasks during delivery when needed

The successful candidate will work closely with the project team and be supported by the practice’s Digital Practice group.

Essential Requirements

  • Industry-recognised qualification in Architecture, Engineering, Construction or related field
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience within a design or construction environment
  • Proven experience coordinating large-scale, multidisciplinary BIM projects
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 19650 and structured information delivery
  • Advanced Autodesk Revit skills
  • Strong experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)
  • Experience using coordination tools such as Navisworks, Revitzo, Solibri or similar
  • Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Excel (Power Query an advantage)

Desirable (Healthcare Advantage)

  • Experience delivering healthcare or hospital projects
  • Familiarity with medical equipment databases and healthcare asset schedules
  • Understanding of asset information requirements for FM handover (e. g. COBie, structured asset parameters)
  • Experience coordinating complex service‑heavy environments typical of acute healthcare facilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical
  • Support the development and compliance of the project BIM Delivery Suite
  • Manage and coordinate federated models across disciplines
  • Prepare and facilitate composite models for coordination meetings
  • Lead clash detection and coordination workflows
  • Undertake regular model audits (geometry, classification, parameters and data integrity)
  • Ensure correct classification and structured parameter use for downstream data extraction
  • Support data validation processes aligned with project requirements
  • Maintain project BIM content libraries and source additional content as required
  • Own QA/QC processes for internal and external consultant models
  • Information & Data Management
  • Support implementation of ISO 19650 compliant workflows
  • Manage BIM data sets and Common Data Environment (CDE) workflows
  • Coordinate file exchange and ensure information is issued in accordance with project milestones Monitor compliance with EIR and project information standards
  • Ensure extracted data complies with project asset information requirements
  • Project & Team Support
  • Provide day‑to‑day BIM support to the project team
  • Assist in training and upskilling team members
  • Provide feedback to Digital Practice group on workflow, content or training gaps
  • Work flexibly with the ability to prioritise effectively under pressure
