We are looking for an experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Perkins Bar & Bistro set in rural Plumtree, just south of Nottingham city centre. The ideal candidate will have a background of high-quality restaurant experience in a senior position. We are looking for a kind-hearted, creative chef with a positive mindset and a real passion for food and outstanding service.

The Role:
- Support the Head Chef and Executive Chef in the successful day-to-day running of the kitchen
- Deliver food quality, presentation, and consistency
- Lead service in the Head Chef’s absence, ensuring pace, accuracy, and communication
- Contribute to menu development, special events and take ownership of daily seasonal specials
- Help recruit, train, and develop a strong kitchen team with a focus on attitude and values
- Support ordering, stock control, GP, and kitchen cost management
- Ensure all allergen, food safety, and due diligence systems are followed accurately
- Maintain high standards to support a 5* Environmental Health rating
- Work closely with the management and wider team to deliver heartfelt hospitality
About You:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a fresh food restaurant
- Passionate about fresh food, standards, and consistency
- A calm, organised leader who supports and develops others
- Strong understanding of kitchen operations and cost control
- Excellent communication skills across departments
- Takes pride in their work and ownership of their section and team
Salary: Up to £43,000 - Up to £36,000 salary + £2k bonus + £5k tips
