Are you someone who thrives on bringing order to complexity, improving data accuracy, and supporting scientific teams behind the scenes? Do you enjoy working hands-on with systems, equipment, and stakeholders to ensure everything is exactly where it should be – both physically and digitally? We’re introducing an Asset Coordinator to support our site in Slough, working in partnership with our onsite service team and laboratory community. This role is critical ahead of a major relocation project, ensuring asset data is accurate, validated, and aligned before equipment moves take place.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead asset data validation ahead of relocation
  • Reassess all laboratory assets well in advance of the site move.
  • Perform RFID scanning to validate physical equipment against system records.
  • Identify discrepancies and proactively resolve them before relocation activity begins.
  • Work directly with lab users and lab managers to close data gaps and confirm accuracy.
  • Scrub and align asset data
  • Confirm and validate asset ownership, department allocation and cost center alignment
  • Ensure asset data reaches near 100% readiness prior to relocation
  • Prevent downstream risk, delays, rework and loss of confidence post-move.
  • Collaborate with the move and site teams
  • Liaise closely with the move company to coordinate accurate equipment lists
  • Ensure the asset data fully aligns with relocation plans and sequence to support onsite planning of maintenance
  • Support a smooth lab setup and go live by eliminating preventative data issues.
  • Protect operational continuity and risk
  • Minimise the risk of asset misplacement and incorrect ownership records
  • Reduce delays to lab set up and scientific operations
  • Strengthen customer confidence through visible data accuracy and control.

Additional value (capacity dependant)

  • Once asset data accuracy is stabilised, the role will expand to provide broader operational support, evolving into a hybrid Asset Coordinator model.
  • Support vendor management access and compliance (TPV Escort Model)
  • Meet third-party vendors at the security hub
  • Verify documentation and ensure compliance with site access and safety protocols
  • Escort vendor safety to and from laboratories
  • Collect service documentation and ensure accurate handover to the onsite teams and customer
  • Expanded Operational Support
  • Coordinate asset installations, moves, and decommissioning activities, ensuring end-to-end data integrity
  • Support with ad-hoc site wide move requests including coordination with relocation providers
  • Maintain RFID Scanning and inventory control to protect long-term asset integrity (expanding responsibility to support our global account on occasion)
  • Provide flexible administrative cover during periods of leave or demand spikes
  • Support technology rollouts
  • Contribute to the ongoing maturity of inventory and asset management processes.

What we’re looking for:

  • Highly detail-oriented, with a strong focus on data accuracy and process integrity.
  • Confident working hands-on with physical equipment and digital systems.
  • Strong communicator, comfortable engaging with lab users, managers, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Proactive and solution-focused, able to identify discrepancies and drive resolution.
  • Organised and methodical, able to manage large volumes of asset data with precision.
  • Comfortable challenging inconsistencies and holding stakeholders accountable for accurate information.

Experience that helps (but not essential):

  • Experience in asset management, laboratory operations, inventory control, or relocation projects.
  • Familiarity with RFID tracking and asset management systems.
  • Experience working in regulated or technical environments.
  • Exposure to service coordination or vendor management processes.

Skills:

  • Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel.
  • Confident written and spoken English.
  • Ability to analyse, cleanse, and reconcile data sets.
  • Professional communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Why join us?

  • Make an immediate and measurable impact on operational readiness.
  • Build expertise in asset governance, relocation planning, and vendor coordination.
  • Be part of a collaborative onsite team focused on quality and continuous improvement.
  • Help ensure scientific operations continue smoothly, accurately, and confidently — now and into the future.
