Responsible for selling products from the Applied Markets Division of PerkinElmer within the assigned territory covering Scotland and North of England, representing the company image positively.

Territory: Scotland and North of England.

Product Portfolio: Separation Sciences including Gas Chromatography (GC) and Liquid Chromatography (LC); Spectroscopy including Ultraviolet (UV), Infrared (IR), Atomic Absorption (AA) and Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP & ICP-MS).

Experience: Previous sales experience with instrumentation is an advantage but not a requirement. Candidates with laboratory instrumentation experience or graduates holding analytical chemistry qualifications will also be considered.

Priorities & Objectives:

  • Compete for all sales opportunities within the territory, utilising all necessary resources to close business in favour of PerkinElmer.
  • Build and maintain relationships with existing and potential customers, facilitating product and service communication and strategic information gathering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compete for all sales opportunities within the territory.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers.
  • Attempt to secure business in new accounts.
  • Gain knowledge of customer funding procedures.
  • Develop and maintain CRM customer/prospect records.
  • Attend seminars, exhibitions and demonstrations to promote business.
  • Maintain product knowledge; prepare, collect, and maintain presentation aids.
  • Maintain competitor product knowledge.
  • Regular business forecasting.
  • Involve with customer account receivables.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Pharmacology or similar.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Skills & Personality:

  • Good presentation, communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation.
  • Numerate and competent with detail and analysis.
  • Prepared to travel throughout the region and sometimes overseas on an ad hoc basis.
