Business Automation Engineer
As part of the Customer Care Service Design team, a Business Automation Engineer is responsible for identifying operational inefficiencies and transforming manual processes into scalable, automated solutions that improve how our teams work. He/She leverages a combination of workflow automation, data platforms, cloud technologies, and emerging AI capabilities to build reliable solutions that reduce manual effort, improve operational consistency, and enable Customer Care teams to scale efficiently.
Working closely with stakeholders across Customer Care, Product, Engineering, and other business functions, the Business Automation Engineer translates operational challenges into practical automation opportunities and delivers solutions using our supported technology stack, including Make.com, Airtable, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Zendesk, and emerging AI-powered tools. Their work alternates between supporting the day-to-day stability of our tooling ecosystem and delivering roadmap initiatives that improve operational efficiency, automation maturity, and user experience.
What You’ll Do
- Build and maintain automation solutions
- Design, develop, test, and deploy automations that eliminate manual work and improve operational efficiency.
- Maintain and enhance existing automations, integrations, and workflows to ensure reliability and scalability.
- Troubleshoot issues and provide ongoing support for deployed solutions.
- Translate operational needs into technical solutions.
- Partner with stakeholders to understand pain points, process gaps, and operational challenges.
- Convert business requirements into clear automation designs and implementation plans.
- Balance speed, simplicity, and long-term maintainability when designing solutions.
- Leverage our automation and AI ecosystem.
- Build solutions using supported enterprise platforms including Make.com, Airtable, AWS, Zendesk, and approved AI technologies.
- Explore opportunities to incorporate AI capabilities and intelligent automation where they can improve operational outcomes.
- Support experimentation and validation of new technologies that could increase automation maturity across the organization.
- Support strategic initiatives.
- Contribute technical expertise to roadmap projects and cross-functional initiatives.
- Collaborate with Tooling, Operations, Product, and Engineering teams to deliver automation solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Help ensure solutions are documented, maintainable, and scalable.

At Perk, we take an IRL-first approach to work, where our team works together in-person 3 days a week. As such, this role requires you to be based within commuting distance of our hubs.
