Reporting to the Project Delivery Manager in the UK, the main purpose of the role is to successfully manage assigned UK projects (onshore wind and solar) from initial concept to the point of handing over of the constructed project as a fully operational entity to the Operations function.
You’ll play an important role in:
- Ownership of project delivery in terms of time, cost and scope from conception/design through to full operation.
- Lead and motivate project teams to deliver on time, scope and budget.
- Manage projects from feasibility, design and requirements definition through to execution, including management of contracts, programmes, budgets and risk mitigation.
- Suitably plan, organise, monitor and report on all phases of projects life cycle.
- Ensure that all site activities and construction works are carried out to the highest standards of safety and in accordance with all relevant legislation and Perigus Energy’s HSSE Management System.
- Together with Contracts Managers, develop contractor and consultant scopes of works and negotiate agreements including electrical and civil construction contracts, turbine supply agreements, solar EPC contracts and engineering services provider agreements ensuring best value is achieved in all such negotiations.
- Manage the executed contractor and consultant contracts and agreements and ensure safety, financial and technical targets are met.
- Develop and manage project capex, opex and budgeting, assisting in the preparation of business cases for major capital investment expenditure and presenting to Senior Management for investment approval.
- Manage and report on all project risks, ensuring management are kept fully abreast of any significant development.
- Ensure that projects are developed to a high standard and de-risked fully in accordance with any requirements to satisfy project financing and investment criteria.
- Liaise with external stakeholders and represent the company in a professional and competent manner.
- Liaise with internal company stakeholders as required and ensure all corporate policies are fully adhered to.
- Identify potential growth opportunities through industry knowledge and wider network.
To succeed in the role:
- Masters or University degree in Engineering or Science.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience and proven track record of successfully managing and delivering large scale renewable projects to budget and schedule.
- Experience with managing Contracts (ideally FIDIC) and Contractors, and experience with performing or managing the role of The Engineer.
- Proven familiarity with UK HSE regulations, in particular the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM).
- Organisationally astute with strong stakeholder management skillset that foster key internal and external relationships that are key to project success.
- Strong technical skillset across turbine, electrical and civil disciplines with ability to quickly decipher the key technical attributes in negotiating associated supply contracts.
- Solution driven with ability to manage multiple projects and navigate complexity.
- Ability to effectively socialise project risks and be proactive in their mitigation.
