Is this you? You're good with your hands and you like making things. Maybe that's a warehouse where you've done a bit of everything, a bit of vehicle work, assembly, fitting, or just the kind of person who'd rather be building something than sat at a desk. You don't need a trade or qualifications for this. If you're practical, careful, and you turn up, the rest can be taught.
Right now you might be doing shifts, weekends, or agency work that could end any week. This is steady 8-to-4, permanent, with your evenings and weekends back.
What you'll be doing (and why you'll enjoy it):
You'll be putting together battery power units, the kind that are starting to replace noisy diesel generators on building sites, events, and more. Think of it as careful, hands-on building: following a clear set of steps, using hand tools, checking your work as you go, and keeping the paperwork straight.
Here's the part that matters: you don't need to have done this exact thing before. Nobody walks in knowing how to build these. The training is proper and it's ongoing, so as long as you're good with your hands and you take care over your work, you'll be shown the rest. People come into this from all sorts: warehouse work, vehicle and car building, electrical or electronics assembly, white goods, mechanical fitting, or straight out of the forces. If you've worked with your hands to a standard somewhere, that counts.
There's room to grow, too. You'll move across different stages and lines over time, so it doesn't get samey.
What you'll need:
- Some hands-on background, anything where you've worked with your hands to a standard.
- Comfort following written instructions.
- Attention to detail and a get-it-done attitude.
If you're a school leaver or changing careers but you've got those, you're in the running. You'll need to live within a sensible drive of Meden Vale near Mansfield. This is an on-site role.
Where you'll be doing it:
A British manufacturer based near Mansfield, building everything in the UK and growing fast, both the product range and the team. For you, that means a line with momentum behind it and a real chance to grow with it.
What you'll get:
- £27,000
- 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday. No shifts, no nights, no weekends
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
- Pension contribution after probation
- Permanent and full-time
