We are supporting the Wilf Ward Family Trust, a Yorkshire-based charity providing care, support and accommodation for approximately 240 people with learning disabilities or profound and multiple learning disabilities across North Yorkshire, East Riding, York and Leeds. We are seeking individuals who are fundamentally aligned with our vision, mission and values.
We welcome applications from individuals who would like to be Trustees (full members of the board) or Independent Committee Members. In both cases, we are keen to ensure individuals are motivated to actively contribute, keeping the board dynamic and impactful.
With exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, you will bring sound judgement, independent thinking, strategic thinking and the confidence to challenge constructively. You will be comfortable operating at Board level within a highly regulated, complex environment, will understand the intersection of care, risk, compliance and governance and demonstrate strong empathy and emotional intelligence.
For this round of recruitment, we are particularly keen to hear from candidates with a background in Digital Transformation (Trustee or ICM). We are seeking a senior leader with experience in digital transformation, possibly with AI knowledge, within complex organisations of a similar scale to support the rest of the board and the CEO as we transform the management of our services.
We are committed to continuing to diversify the Board, and strongly welcome candidates with lived experience and those from backgrounds currently underrepresented at the Board level, in line with the Equality Act 2010. We welcome applications from first-time Trustees and ICMs.
Time Commitment:
- Trustees: 1-2 days per month
- Independent Committee members: 3-4 meetings per year
