Due to the promotion of our current Headteacher, we are seeking a Headteacher to lead The Warren School and ensure our community continues to benefit from strong, consistent and ambitious leadership. The Warren School is an 11–18 secondary school with a large sixth form, serving the communities of Chadwell Heath, Romford and the surrounding area. As part of the Loxford School Trust, we work within a hub of schools led by Loxford School, an ‘Outstanding’ provider. This structure enables us to deliver high educational standards, stay ahead of national change and ensure that our staff benefits from strong professional development, shared practice and trust‑wide expertise.

We currently educate around 1,374 pupils, reflecting the diversity of our local area, with a significant proportion of pupils speaking English as an additional language and around 30% eligible for free school meals. We also host a resourced provision for pupils with moderate learning difficulties, ensuring that pupils with additional needs receive the support required to access the curriculum. In May 2024, Ofsted judged The Warren School ‘Outstanding in all areas’, recognising the strength of our teaching, leadership, behaviour, safeguarding and sixth‑form provision.

We are now seeking a Headteacher who can sustain this success, lead with clarity and ensure that our systems remain consistent, ambitious and aligned with Trust expectations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading school improvement planning and monitoring progress across all phases.
  • Implementing trust policies, systems and reporting structures with fidelity.
  • Overseeing safeguarding, behaviour, attendance and inclusion.
  • Ensuring curriculum sequencing, assessment accuracy and high‑quality teaching.
  • Managing staffing, timetabling, resource allocation and operational priorities.
  • Working with trust leaders on data, quality assurance, compliance and risk.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with parents, carers, governors and external partners.
  • Contributing to Trust‑wide improvement, shared practice and leadership development.

Who we are looking for: We are seeking a Headteacher with the experience, judgement and leadership capacity to sustain high standards and lead a large, diverse 11–18 school. The successful candidate will bring a track record of improving outcomes, strengthening systems and developing staff at scale. We are looking for someone with:

  • Senior leadership experience in a secondary or 11–18 setting.
  • A track record of raising achievement across diverse communities.
  • Strong understanding of curriculum planning, sequencing and assessment.
  • Experience in analysing data to inform improvement priorities.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, behaviour systems and statutory compliance.
  • Experience in developing staff, building leadership capacity and managing change.
  • Ability to work within a trust structure and implement shared systems with accuracy.
  • Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to our values of respect, discipline and responsibility.

You will uphold the principles of public life, maintain high professional standards and serve the best interests of our pupils. You will work collaboratively with governors, Trust leaders, staff, parents and external agencies to secure sustained improvement and ensure that The Warren School continues to deliver high‑quality education.
