Carers UK, the national charity for unpaid carers, seeks a Chair of its Finance & Resources Committee to support strong financial stewardship and effective governance during a period of transition and opportunity.
Location: Meetings held in London.
Time commitment: Approximately 10–12 days a year, including board meetings, committee meetings and away days.
Key responsibilities:
- Chair the Finance & Resources Committee, providing financial oversight and supporting governance on risk, financial planning and sustainability.
- Contribute to board discussions and strategic decision‑making while building effective relationships with trustees and the executive team.
- Work closely with the Chair, Chief Executive and Chief Operating Officer to deliver strategic oversight and constructive challenge.
Required qualifications and experience:
- Senior leadership experience in complex organisations with strong strategic financial understanding.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to governance, risk or strategic decision‑making.
- Confidence in engaging with financial information and supporting balanced, well‑informed decision‑making.
- Commitment to Carers UK’s mission; experience or understanding of caring experience is highly desirable.
