Your Role as SEN HLTA:

  • Support teachers in planning and delivering lessons tailored to the needs of SEN students.
  • Lead small group interventions and 1:1 support sessions to enhance student progress.
  • Assist in developing individual learning plans (ILPs) and adapting resources to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Provide behavioural and emotional support, ensuring a safe and engaging learning environment.
  • Work closely with parents, carers, and external professionals to support student development.
  • Help with assessments and progress tracking, providing valuable insights to the teaching team.
  • Support students with communication, sensory, and social needs, using strategies such as PECS, Makaton, or AAC where appropriate.

Who We're Looking For:

  • HLTA qualification or significant experience working in an SEN setting.
  • Strong understanding of SEND strategies, including working with students with ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or complex needs.
  • Experience leading small groups and delivering interventions.
  • A caring, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • An Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
