Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and challenging Music lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, following the National Curriculum and relevant examination specifications.
  • Plan and prepare high-quality lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities, ensuring all students are challenged and supported.
  • Utilize a range of teaching methods and resources, including instrumental instruction, vocal training, music theory, composition, and music technology, to enhance student learning.
  • Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and support individual learning journeys.
  • Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Music examinations, ensuring they have a strong understanding of assessment criteria.
  • Contribute to the development of the Music curriculum and resources, ensuring it is inclusive and reflects the diverse interests of our students.
  • Foster a love of music in students, encouraging them to develop their musical skills, creativity, and appreciation of different musical genres and cultures.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities such as school choirs, orchestras, bands, and musical productions.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Music.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Experience in preparing students for GCSE and A-Level Music examinations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and musical skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students of all musical abilities.
  • A commitment to empowering young women through music education.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Full-time, permanent position, starting September 2025.
