An inspiring and inclusive SEN school in Haringey is seeking a dedicated Music Teacher to join their team from April 2025. Responsibilities

• Full-time, permanent position at a supportive SEN school in Haringey
• Deliver music lessons to students with a variety of special educational needs, including learning disabilities, SEMH (social, emotional, and mental health) needs, and autism
• Create an engaging and inclusive music curriculum that meets the individual needs of students and fosters their creative talents
• Use a range of adapted teaching strategies to ensure all students can participate in and benefit from music lessons
• Support students\’ personal and emotional development through music, building confidence and communication skills
• Work closely with SEN support staff to deliver personalized learning experiences
• Contribute to school-wide initiatives and events, including performances, music-related extracurricular activities and projects

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
• Experience teaching music in a special educational needs setting or mainstream school
• Strong knowledge of music theory and a range of musical instruments, with a passion for engaging students in creative music-making
• Experience working with students with SEN, particularly those with autism, learning difficulties, or SEMH
• A creative, flexible approach to teaching, with the ability to adapt lessons to suit a variety of learning styles
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
• Enhanced DBS check required
