About the History Teacher Role
We are seeking an inspirational and dedicated History Teacher to join our high-achieving History department. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach History across Key Stages 3 and 4, inspiring students with engaging lessons and fostering their historical understanding.
Key Responsibilities of the History Teacher:
- Plan and deliver high-quality History lessons that cater to a range of learning styles and abilities.
- Create a stimulating and supportive learning environment where students feel confident to explore historical events and develop their critical thinking skills.
- Teach a variety of historical periods and topics, promoting historical understanding and appreciation.
- Encourage students to engage with History in a meaningful way, developing their research, analytical, and communication skills.
- Assess and monitor student progress in History, providing constructive feedback and support.
- Contribute to the development of the History curriculum and departmental resources.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and ensure the highest standards of History teaching.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- A degree in History or a related field.
- Experience teaching History at the secondary level.
- A strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum for History.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for History and a commitment to inspiring students.
