About the History Teacher Role

We are seeking an inspirational and dedicated History Teacher to join our high-achieving History department. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach History across Key Stages 3 and 4, inspiring students with engaging lessons and fostering their historical understanding.

Key Responsibilities of the History Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality History lessons that cater to a range of learning styles and abilities.
  • Create a stimulating and supportive learning environment where students feel confident to explore historical events and develop their critical thinking skills.
  • Teach a variety of historical periods and topics, promoting historical understanding and appreciation.
  • Encourage students to engage with History in a meaningful way, developing their research, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Assess and monitor student progress in History, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Contribute to the development of the History curriculum and departmental resources.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and ensure the highest standards of History teaching.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in History or a related field.
  • Experience teaching History at the secondary level.
  • A strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum for History.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for History and a commitment to inspiring students.
