About the Role A developing Independent School in Brent is seeking a creative and skilled Design & Technology Teacher specialising in Engineering for a permanent, full-time position starting in September. The successful Design & Technology Teacher (Engineering) will inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4 to develop their understanding of engineering principles and practical skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging and effective Design & Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 with a focus on Engineering.
• Prepare students thoroughly for GCSE Design & Technology with a focus on Engineering.
• Develop students\’ understanding of engineering concepts, materials, and design processes.
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback as a Design & Technology Teacher (Engineering).
• Contribute to the ongoing development of the Design & Technology curriculum within Engineering.
• Maintain a safe and effective workshop environment for engineering activities.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialism in Design & Technology, ideally with a focus on Engineering.
• Proven experience teaching Design & Technology at the secondary level (Key Stages 3 & 4), with experience in Engineering.
• Strong practical skills and knowledge of engineering principles, materials, and design.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to inspire creativity and technical proficiency in Engineering among students.
• A commitment to collaborative teamwork and a supportive school environment.

Remuneration: Inner London Payscale.
