Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and challenging Food Technology lessons across Key Stages 3-4, emphasizing practical application.
- Inspire students to develop a deep understanding of nutrition, food science, and practical cookery skills within Food Technology.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and enhance the Food Technology curriculum, focusing on practical outcomes.
- Contribute to the assessment and monitoring of student progress in Food Technology, evaluating practical skills.
- Potentially contribute to extracurricular cooking clubs or healthy eating initiatives, promoting practical food skills.
Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialism in Food Technology.
- Degree in Food Technology, Nutrition, or a related field.
- Proven experience teaching Food Technology at secondary level (ECTs welcome to apply), with a focus on practical cookery.
- Strong knowledge of nutrition, food science, food safety, and practical cookery techniques relevant to Food Technology.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with a focus on safety in the Food Technology kitchen and the delivery of practical lessons.
- A passion for fostering an understanding of food and practical cooking skills through Food Technology.
