We are currently recruiting for an experienced and driven Accountant to join a well-established motor group based in Oxford. This is a key role within the business, offering the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and play a vital part in driving financial performance across the dealership.
The Role
As Dealership Accountant, you will take full responsibility for the financial management of the site, ensuring accurate reporting, strong controls, and insightful analysis to support business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare group accounts and contribute to monthly management meetings
- Oversee all financial transactions across the dealership
- Manage debtor control and reporting
- Monitor and report on working capital
- Oversee vehicle stock funding
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations
- Produce forecasts, budgets, and financial reports
- Prepare dealership comparison and performance reports
- Submit composite reports in line with manufacturer requirements
- Lead and manage Sales Administration and Accounts teams
About You
- Previous experience as an Accountant within a franchised motor dealership
- Strong understanding of the retail automotive sector
- Experience managing accounts across multi-site operations (desirable)
- Proactive and commercially aware, with a passion for supporting business growth
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines
- Confident decision-maker with the ability to implement robust financial controls
