We are Performance Communications — proudly employee-owned, one of The Sunday Times Best Places to Work and the UK’s leading specialist agency in Automotive, Technology & Sports Brand Comms. We’re based in Kingston upon Thames and work hybrid: three days in-office, two from home.
We’re looking for an AE with a passion for engineering, innovation, and technology to join Performance’s Auto Tech team – a small, collaborative, and collegiate team that works with some of the world’s leading suppliers of mobility and industrial technology. This includes hardware like engines, motors, transmissions, and batteries, along with the software and control systems that power machines and vehicles.
We work with our clients to communicate their messages to highly targeted audiences such as executives, engineers, policymakers, and investors. We’re looking for an AE who loves researching and writing about technical, engineering, and business topics, whether it be opinion pieces, press releases, or company blogs. Along with helping the team maintain account systems and processes, this new team member will be empowered to build up their industry knowledge and writing skills. They’ll also be involved in delivering high-impact media relations campaigns to secure coverage in top trade, national, and global outlets.
- Long-form content writing: Ghostwriting for clients in the press, including opinion pieces, written Q&As, and letters to the editor. Building relationships with business, trade, and technology journalists, developing and distributing press releases, and pitching for briefing opportunities.
- Account management: Assisting with day-to-day tasks that come with running a PR account, such as liaising with suppliers, sending call agendas and roundups to clients, managing team meetings, logging and reporting coverage, and developing briefing notes for journalist interviews.
- Social and AV content development: Writing copy for LinkedIn posts, developing briefs for imagery or video content, organising multimedia projects, and crafting newsletters and marketing material with clients.
Intellectual curiosity and an addiction to reading the news are essential. Fully computer literate in Microsoft packages is required.
As an employee-owned business, you become part of a bold, creative agency where your voice matters, your growth is nurtured, and your wellbeing is genuinely supported.
